Ist es wirklich schon Samichlaustag? Kurzerhand wird das Outfit umgestyled und weihnachtlich gestimmt. Ja, ganz ehrlich... während ich im Zug auf dem Weg in die Nähschule bin und mir urururalte Lieder von Michael McDonald sanft ins Ohr eindringen, schaue ich aus dem beschlagenem Fenster und bemerke, dass dieses Jahr weniger Weihnachtsbeleuchtungen in meiner
Stadt um die Wette prahlen. Einige Häuser haben sogar die erstbeste Lichterkette ziemlich lieblos über den zweitbesten Baum geworfen... that's it!! Schade, denke ich und unterdrücke den Reiz, die Kette nett an den Baum drapieren zu wollen. Passiert Euch das nicht auch? Man will am liebsten hin und dem armen Baum sein Weihnachtskleid drapieren... so ähnlich wie man instinktiv den Träger des Abendkleides einer Freundin während des Plaudern zurechtdreht weil man einfach muss, ich zumindest habe diesen Tick und vielleicht steige ich demnächst wirklich in Nachbars Garten Nachts auf die Bäume.
Unser Nikolausshooting entstand inmitten meiner Stadt vor dem Stadttheater. Die Fotografin, diesmal wieder meine liebe Tochter, ging total locker an die Sache, knipste wild drauflos und liess sich weder von den Zuschauern die sich ansammelten, noch von der begrenzten Akkuzeit (hatte vergessen zu laden...) beirren und legte in Kürze eine coole Session hin. Danke min Schatz!!! Ihr Assistent, mein kleiner Dreikäsehoch übernahm kurzerhand die Rolle als Fotograf!
Zum Jupe: es handelt sich um das erste fertig gewordene Schulprojekt. Gefüttert, mit Gehschlitz hinten, Bund und Reissverschluss. das Schnittmuster habe ich genau auf meine Linie angepasst. Sozusagen also mein erstes massgeschneidertes Werk! Den Stoff hatte ich im Herbst in London, an der Stoffmeile, Berwick Street, gekauft. Ich wollte zuerst den typisch britischen Style präsentieren, doch der Zufall führte mich zu einem weihnächtlichen Look der Spass und gute Laune macht... und manche hässliche Weihnachtsbeleuchtung wird mit einem gleichgültigen Achselzucken akzeptiert.

Is this really true? It's already SantaClaus day? A quick decided change of style in a more christmas-like mood. Well to be honest with you... while sitting in the train and listening to good old Michael McDonald songs, I look out of the window into the foggy, still dark morning. I realize this year not being so wastly illuminated with christmas light as usual and oh... some houses have thrown a light chain over the next best tree they could find... that's it! Unbelivable, I think while I try to resist the feeling of wanting to jump on that tree and drape a decent christmas dress on it... similar to when you adjust a shoulder strap on the dress of your friend while chatting just because you have to well I can't help it and you can call it tick if you want but I might end up jumping on neighbours trees on christmas eve.
Our Santa-Shooting took place in the middle of my beloved town in front of the theater. The photographer, once more my sweet daughter, was so easy going that day, despite of the people standing around, watching and the low batteries on my camera (forgot to load... shame on me...) she just did an excellent job in no time! Thank you my sweetie!!! Her assistant by the way, my little love, on some point just decided to take over for a few shoots!
My skirt: this is my first finished project hot from the sewing machine in school! It's lined and has a vent, a waistband and a zipper on the back. I have ajusted the pattern so it would fit exactly my figure. So we are talking here of my very first tailored garment! I got the fabric this automn in London, at Berwick Street. I first intended to do a very british shooting, but then coincidence decided that it would become more of a Christmas shoot which was so fun to do and to wear and just makes happy... so it hopefully will get easier to ignore horrible Christmas decorations and concentrate more on the beautiful ones.
